The Royal School of Church Music

RSCM badgeThe RSCM is an educational charity dedicated to raising standards and promoting music in every style of Christian worship and every denomination. The RSCM now numbers over 11,000 members and affiliates world-wide. Members are offered support and guidance through local and national events and publications. Members are drawn from all denominations, worshipping in different ways with different styles of music. Their common belief is that Christian worship is enriched by good music, used effectively. Visit the main RSCM website (opens in a new window) for more information and to become a member/affiliate.

We support music making in parishes and schools, and training for organists, choir trainers, music groups and singers of all ages and experience covering all denominations. Details of events this year will be published on our Events page. Through the Diocesan Choristers' Fund, a small number of bursaries are available for RSCM courses or tuition.

Members are entitled to all the discounts available to affiliated members at RSCM Publishing (opens in a new window) for music and books, and for National Courses and Conferences organised by the RSCM.

The joy of singing - a voice for lifeThe RSCM Voice for Life is open to singers of all ages. Through this scheme many choristers have been encouraged and rewarded for their skill, talent and commitment. The scheme runs alongside the Dean's (Bronze) and Bishop's (Silver) Awards which are administered locally.

Members receive regular newsletters and mailings from the Area Secretary and also receive the quarterly mailing from the RSCM in Salisbury.
