RSCM Validated Awards


The full compliment of awards are available in this Area, following the Voice for Life scheme. All Badges are awarded by choir trainers according to the guidelines of the scheme. The Bronze and Silver Awards are examined by an RSCM Validated examiner and awarded by the Area Committee. The Gold Award is examined and awarded centrally by the RSCM.

This is a new and exciting award, launched in January 2007, designed to reward the loyalty and development of choristers of any age. Although it is NOT an RSCM award, it is administered by the RSCM Manchester Area Committee and can be used as a precursor to the RSCM Voice for Life scheme, or simply as an incentive to achieve.

This scheme is for anyone from within the Anglican Diocese of Manchester who would like to develop their skills as a church musician. It provides financial help (up to 50% of tuition fees) to candidates for tuition with an acredited tutor. Candidates for the scheme do not have to be RSCM members or affiliates. The scheme is only administered by the RSCM Manchester Committee on behalf of the Diocesan Board of Finance.
